"Tradition with a Pinch of Panache"

To create this unique aesthetic, Matthew drew his inspiration from materials that would have been used when the home was built: white marble, brass, and painted, inset cabinetry. Matthew used the homeowners favorite color—blue—for the color of the painted cabinetry. Throughout the kitchen, Matthew combines sophisticated, traditional elements with a pinch of modernity for a delightful space.

Working with Matthew

Matthew Quinn, Principal of Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio and co-author of Quintessential Kitchens By Matthew Quinn: Volume One, designs and installs luxury kitchens, baths and closets nationwide. The headquarters of Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio and the Matthew Quinn Collection are located in Atlanta, Georgia, however Matthew works with clients both nationally and internationally. Although some clients do visit him in Atlanta at his 10,000 square foot showroom and studio; most are able to make decisions through virtual meetings, extensive drawings, customized samples, local product sourcing and photo realistic renderings. Matthew designs and specifies cabinetry from four distinct North American manufacturers each specialized in different cabinet construction, style and finishes. Installation of the cabinetry is coordinated by either one of his five Atlanta teams or other available teams located throughout the country.
To start, Matthew likes to discuss the scope of the project with the homeowner, interior designer, architect and/or builder. Most projects are collaborations with other professionals which ensures synchronicity with the rest of the home and a layering of talent and details. Most often, a client would provide dimensioned drawings and/or pictures to facilitate an understanding of the space. After that conversation, Matthew provides an estimated budget for either just the cabinetry portion of the project or for all products in the space with the exception of builder/contractor labor, furniture, fabrics, rugs, accessories, travel expenses or sales tax. Once that budget is accepted, Matthew invoices for a 20% design deposit on the initial estimated total quoted price of the project. This non-refundable design deposit is credited against the cabinet cost after the cabinet order is placed. Once the design deposit is received, Matthew can and will travel to the site for extensive lifestyle, form and function interviews with the client as well as a site measure. Afterwards, his team of technicians and project managers will produce a set of working documents that detail not only cabinetry layouts but also countertops , tile, backsplash and architectural moldings. To ensure the space is properly prepared for a seamless installation, he may also offer drawings which show all plumbing, electrical, mechanical and lighting locations. Matthew is used to working with clients and trades from all over the world, and he knows that communication by phone, email and incredibly detailed drawings is the key to a successful project.
